The Only Constant Is Change
By Tim Violet

The only constant in the universe is change!!!
There are many definitions of CHANGE:
Merriam-Webster’s unabridged dictionary has too many definitions to include in this brief commentary. The variety is a bit amusing, from altering the future, changing your voice, adopting new directions, changing your mind, changing your clothes, to change in your pocket.
For us in the management world, “change” is what was yesterday and will be turned into what will be tomorrow.
Manage it, or it will manage you.
Failure to examine, fear of the future, unwillingness to divest the legacy of the past, all hold us in a precarious position, sometimes we act, many times we freeze, or we attempt to explain it away, change is oft-times: uncomfortable.
There are many quotes about change, they each teach a lesson:
Faced with the choice between changing one's mind and proving that there is no need to do so, almost everyone gets busy on the proof.
—John Kenneth Galbraith
After you've done a thing the same way for two years, look it over carefully. After five years, look at it with suspicion. And after ten years, throw it away and start all over.
—Alfred Edward Perlman
Stubbornness does have its helpful features. You always know what you are going to be thinking tomorrow.
—Glen Beaman
And one of my “all-time” favorites:
The only difference between a rut and a grave is their dimensions.
—Ellen Glasgow
Review it, challenge it, question it, but never let it just sit, when it stands, it will be looking down at you.
